I got a grant GT steering wheel. I don't wanna mess with the airbag, but my friend says if I disconnect the fuse it won't go BANG, or whatever. I don't really trust my friend with, hmmmmmm, anything, let alone gettin me knocked into the backseat by an airbag and a loose wheel.

If anyone has experience with this, please give me a shout. Pro's and con's welcome.

Thanks again.

Does it have an airbag? If not, and you put it in your car, you pretty much let the insurance company get off the hook in an accident. They probably won't pay a dime if you've disconnected the airbag.

Given the recent flak about airbags hurting people, it is no longer illegal for the owner of the car to disconnect them. You can take out the fuse and remove it without any problems. The dash light will come on though. You can either paint over the light, or put a resistor of the same impedance as the airbag into the circuit where the airbag once was. DO NOT try to measure the impedance of the airbag by hooking a multimeter up to the leads, this will make it go BANG! Get a a variable resistor and hook that up to the circuit and just try different values until the light goes out.
