noob question

what does "ricer" mean? From context, I used my brain, and thought that it means like cheesy or something like that...just a guess...

American muscle car guys labeled all pocket-rocket cars that.
They claim "our" cars (Nissan, Honda, Toyota, Subaru, Mitsubishi) are fast because they run on rice...

So a ricer is a person running a fast Japanese car.

Partially you are correct; A ricer to me is a kid with a Civic that has a Super Duper Wing and $hitload of stickers!!!

Hope this helps,

Huligan.

There are many definitions of "ricer" but the one that sticks most with me is that of a person who is more in to the looks of their car, rather than the performance, but who believes that his car will 'look and perform' FASTER as a result of the modifications that they put on it.
These modifications usually involve body kits, big wings on a FWD car, loud fartcan exhausts which fit poorly, big/bling rims that slow the car more than help it, cut springs to lower it, altezzas (they're just damn ugly), and an a$$load of stickers for products that may or may not be on the car, much less be manufactured FOR that brand of car.
They are typically driven by white kids with North Carolina Tar Heels clothing that is too big (and yeah, it ****es me off, having lived in Chapel Hill), hat to the side/back, and a mad gangsta lean when they drive.

I do NOT consider a ricer to be someone who attempts to make their car look better through mods like the above IF they realize that these do not generally add to the performance of their car.

I think ricer applies to an attitude more than a car.

Ricer, from the latin word rice meaning - an edible grain that is normally white in color. The engish word ricer is used to describe cars with more stickers than horsepower or wanna be sportscars that make excessive buzzing sound and sport oversized rims and overly huge wings. Ricer = No show no go.

Now that's a perfect example of rice.

lowering is no prob as long as its not touching he ground(must get big wheels if u do this), muffler is good as long as it doesn;t fart, tint is no way "rice"

Nope. You're improving your suspension rigidity, and handling. Thus your performance, with springs/struts.

The muffler is fine - but get a Y-pipe/intake too. The muffler will add nothing but noise, really.
If you do want a nice muffler though - I just installed a Dynomax Super Turbo muffler with 4" Vibrant tip. It's got a nice tone, nothing obnoxious.

And there is nothing wrong with trying to get your car to look nicer.

I moved to a small town for a few years to accomodate my wife's job. I see too many of these clowns. I'm white, so it's not a race thing.
