allright, i know most of you guys are dropped. there's so many choices that i don't know what to go with. I don't want to lose my comfort totally (even though i know i'll lose a lot) but most of all i don't want my max to be bouncy (like the little civic's jumpin' around the road)
any suggestions will be appreciated...what kind of setup should i get and where can i get it at the lowest price.
by the way i have a 98SE on stock 16's

well after having Sprint springs with KYB AGX , i switched to H&R's and now i have front Tokico's with rear KYB AGX and H&R's
all i can say that set up rides just perfect- the way i wanted it !!!

njmaxseltd- deservs all the credit for this "frankenstined" set up .

BTW
Sprints/KYB AGX = tight/very sporty ride
H&R/KYB AGX= somewhat better - but finding the right setting might take a while.
H&R/frontTokicos/rearKYB AGX = sweet ride !!!

After trying Sprints, Eibachs and H&Rs, I whole heartedly recommend H&R over any other. When paired with either of the KYB strut models, they are perfect.

 

I recieved Ant's H&R setup today. Glad to read everyone is happy with it. Now to get my struts.

 

As long as you get decent shocks and set them correctly, you won't have a bouncing problem at all. Most of those civics you see are probably sitting on blown stock shocks.

But as for the suspension, it's all about how you rank "handling", "ride comfort" and "drop"

Rank those 3 and tell us a little about how much each of those mean to you, and we will pick out your suspension for you.

 

Any detectable diff between the H&R and Progress springs in combo w. KYB's?

 

what about eibach? I heard that eibach springs are very good springs to have. Handling is a must(9), ride comfort would be high up there (8), and drop would have to be low but not to low. About 1.5". What would be a better set up eibach/AGX or H&R/AGX?

 

If handling is a must, then I'd recommend eibach. AGX are just fine, but for all out performance Konis would be the top notch, followed by Illuminas, then AGX.

Eibachs are just fine on smooth roads, but will get somewhat harsh over rutty or bumpy roads.

H&Rs are about as soft as a lowered suspension can get.

 

I also agree, h&rs/agxs are the way to go. I love those German springs!

Hey - I got the H&R/KYB GR-2 setup on www.tirerack.com for around $600. Ride is GREAT - firm but not harsh. Just what I wanted. GR-2s will save you a little $$$ if you don't need the adjustables.

get two rear KYB AGX shocks from www.tirerack.com along with H&R springs

the whole set up should cost no more than $600 , assuming that your stock suspension parts are in good shape.
