Door Pillar Adhesive

I'm having a problem with the adhesive on the door pillars after I took the vinyl tape off. No matter what I do, I just can't get it off! I've used 3M Adhesive Remover, Tar and bug, Goof off, and isopropyl alcohol. I've let them all soak for a long time, and I even let the tar and bug soak overnight and the stuff still didn't come off!

Help Please?

Paint thinner works well. You can also try WD-40.

I used Goo Gone and just rubbed it on the sticky stuff with my thumb, let it sit for about 20 seconds and rubbed away with a 100% cotton towel...got it off pretty easily.

Well, I'm not getting it off as easily as some of you guys have. IDK what I'm dealing with here, but it might be because I live in FL and the temps get pretty hot outside in the direct sunlight. This car has never been parked in a garage (until now). Could that be the problem?

Actually the hotter the better. I took mine off over a couple of days. The day when it was hot and humid, the vinyl and adhesive came off much easier than the day it was dry and mild.

Should I try to heat it up with a heat gun, then try to take it off?

I used denatured alcohol, worked like a champ. It only took a minute or two and the glue was off.

I live in FL also and I recently removed my pinstripe. If that's the same type of glue it's a beotch to remove after being baked on in the sun for that many years. I just literally rubbed harder as metallic97gxe suggested.

You could also use gasoline. It takes adhesives off very well. A little more dangerous though...
