Wire next to oxygen sensor on cat hanging

Hello I was wondering what the wire in the front of the cat us for. I just noticed it was hanging. The oxygen sensor on the bpipe is intact, but on the front side of the cat, there is a wire with a circle metal connector that is hanging. What is that and where does it connect? I haven't gotten a cel for it, so i'm wondering if it is a big deal. THanks.

If its a braided metal wire that is uninsulated, that is the exhaust grounding strap.

its just a ground to the chassis for the cat. some have had theirs ripped off due to things they ran over and the cat functions fine without it.
