MAF problem please help

my car didn't move for 3 month(changing clutch and flywheel)when ti was done it would go fast until 2k rpm and then stop for like half a second and then keep going.. and so on through out other rpms.. so i tried using the fuel injertor cleaner.. for about 2 weeks.. that ddint help so i tried cleaning the throttle body and sience i was taking everything i thought i would clean the MAF as well...(when i had the MAF n hands and i shake it there was something moving inside is this normal?) so cleanded the 2 of them with throttle body cleaner..a few minutes later i tried to take my car to the gas station to add another fuel injerto cleanner for the last time, but when i turned the car on the rpm would go up and down from 1k to 500 or 400 and it wont pass 2 or 3k rpm. (When it's on idle and i press the gas it wont pass 3k rpm and if i try to force it i can hear something hitting something) now it's worse then before.. can someone please tell me what to do all this problems are driving me crazy.. i feel like just selling the car and get something else!!

sounds like you have a broken MAFS... when you first started your car and it didn't go past 2k rmps.. you probably didn't have it connected tightly.. Your not suppost to have anything loose in there, so something could definetly broken if your getting a loose sound when you shake it.
You can get a new slightly used one in the junk yard.. I think they run about 30-40 bucks...Its a easy fix, don't sell your ride over that.

Good luck

thank you for the reply yeah i think my MAF is borken... i just check my codes and i had 3 codes from what i can tell they are... (09-05 Crankshaft Position sensor (position))---(04-01 Intake Air Temp Sensor)---(01-03 Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor) the intake air tepm sensor is b/c i'm using a cone k&n filter and of course it doenst have the sensor.. but i have no idea what the other ones are Now if my MAF is broken should i or not get codes for it?? i know my car shakes a lot after i pass 3k rpm but can i still drive the car if i dont pass 3k rpm or is it bad for it to be driven like this?? this is my only car and i have to go to work.. thank you very much for your time

Your always risking something when doing so.. You need to get a new sensor as quickly as possible. the other codes are probably nothing once you change the sensor out.. just reset the ecu and they should go away.

but now do i know for sure that the MAF is the one that is broken? is there a way i can test it or do i just have to buy it? may be when the mechanic took it out to change the clutch and flywheel drop it and that's why it broke.. there's one n ebay should i buy this one?

Kinda hard to blame in on the shop now..
Yep, thats what you need. You probably can find it cheaper if you search around your area. 100.00 is kinda over priced for a used part like that. Check the local junkyards.

since i was gonna buy a new or used MAFS i openned my old and the problem was that the 3 cables were not touching the sensor and the was making a noise was this piece of gold metal in it... so now i can drive my car like it was before... it will pass 2 or 3k rpm like before.. but i still have the same problem that i had a the begining before cleaning the throttle body and MAFS is there anything else that could be doing this to my car????

Later,
i left my car with out driving it for about 3 months... and pretty much empty of gas..b/c my clutch burned out and i had no money to get fix.. but i just changed my clutch and flywheel(fidanza) but not when i drive my car it feels like it's not getting gas.. like i would WOT and it would fast unitl 2k rpm then stop for like half a second then go up again until 3k rpm and then fast again until 4k rpm and so on and so on and so on... the mechanic told me that my fuel injector it's probablyt dirty so i have used 3 different kinds for fuel injector cleaners and i still have the same problem.. then i tried cleanning the throttle body.. and since i took everything out to clean the throttle body i decided to clean the MAFS.. so i actually open the MAFS and clean it... it was then when my car wouldnt' even move anymore.... then i took the top of the MAFS off and connectd the 3 cables again so now it works.. but i still have the same problem from the begining
