i have a big problem

i was doing the door pillar mod, and finished one side...went to the other side, and realized that that whole side is black paint, not tape...I got in an accident and had to have a door panel replaced on that side...why in the hell isn't it the same? Anyone with anything enlightening to say or any ideas on how to not make my car look stupid, please comment.

Maybe the door you replaced with was black before the body shop re-painted it your existing color. If I remember correctly - black cars didn't have the vinyl cause the door pillar is black to begin with.

Underneath the black (I scraped some off just thinking it was hard to get started) looks like beige...so I don't think it is only black

I know some people have been using carbon fiber stickers over top of the pillars. I dont know if that helps any. I know I priced new stickers from nissan and they were like 50 a side...

Are you following this thread also?

HERE - they are talking about the pillar area and how to cover/paint/restore it.

You could just get vinyl from the dealer and re-cover both sides, back to the stock look. Otherwise you're in for some custom painting work. Either way it will take some effort.

Good luck,
TOM
