Are 18" 30 offset 350z wheels out of the question for 4th gen?
Are 18" 30 offset 350z wheels out of the question for 4th gen?
I love the 6 spoke pattern. Best wheel I've ever seen and I can't find anything like them anywhere. Maxes' 17's are cool, but 18's are even better! So what do you think?
The stocks have an offset of 40 mm, right? So that means that with a 215 mm wide tire they stick in from the bottom of the lugs toward the strut 1/2 of 215 plus 40 mm. So that's 147.5 mm or 5.8 inches. They stick out 1/2 of 215 minus the 40 mm offset, and that's 67.5 mm or 2.66 inches.
Question about 350 wheels, though. They have 18X8 30 offset R on two tires and 18X8 30 offset F on two tires. So with the same dimensions, are the R and F just there to help the tire guys from getting them mixed up? Just to keep from rotating them by mistake? Are not these wheels identical otherwise?
Assuming they are, I would put the 225/45 18's that go on the fronts on all of them. So that would mean they go in toward the strut 142.5 mm (5.61 inches, less than stock) but they go out toward the fender 82.5 mm (3.25 inches). So they stick in less but stick out more by .60 inches. Is this all that bad? When I look at the car with my ruler, .60 inches don't look like much. And the overall diameter of the 18's is about .66 inches more. So that's .33 inches higher than the 16's. This should be fine right? I would even think of going up to 225/50 to get even more of the gap taken away (and a little cheaper tire). Would that be cool?
Also, is the lug pattern the same? I can't find those specs anywhere. I just know the 350 wheels have 5 lugs.
Anyway, correct me where I'm wrong and check my math.
Prociate it.
