My car was wrecked back in Feb. and it was the other persons fault. Well he has this jacked up insurance company(Coventry insurance). well they are telling me and the bank that financed my car that they can't make payment on my loan till they get the title. Check this the bank lost the title but has applied for a duplicate. They offered a letter of gaurantee to these guys but they still wont pay my car off. Do they actually have to have the title in hand to make payment?

I have no idea why they would want the title. If I were the bank, I'd want money before I handed over the title. Different states have different laws. If you haven't already, politley ask to speak to a supervisor or the next in the chain of command, and ask what is going on. The key is to be polite and professional. If you get mad and frustrated they will only do what they have to. A little diplomacy goes a long way. Just politely keep going up he chain of command until you get someone that makes sense. There may also be a state government agency you can complain to also.
