probably would be ok, but your not going to notice any more power, just more noise. Personally i wouldnt risk sucking in dirt on a cheap filter.

that one looks better, i would search around to see if you can find flow rates and filtration tolerances for the stock filter element, if that one is equal or not too far off go for it.

Do not buy that type of filter. I used to have one and they are cheap. The metal on the top will rust. Just spend the money and get a K&N or apexi.

DONT BUY OFF BRAND FILTERS BECAUSE YOU WILL GET REALLY BAD FILTRATION. MY FRIEND HAS ONE OF THOSE CHEEPO FILTERS ON HIS CAR. THE OTHER DAY WE TOOK IT OFF TO REPLACE IT WITH A K&N AND THERES WAS A THIN LAYER OF DUSTY GRIME ON HIS THROTTLE BODY INLET. NOW IMAGINE THAT GOING INTO HIS ENGINE.

jetblack5spd: hit the caps key please

As for the grime, I'm doing my diffy bearings in my tranny, and I noticed crap in my mid-pipe. It's most likely from the PCV.

If you buy this filter or any of the other ones with the "universal" adapters, how do you expect it to fit your MAF? There is no velocity stack or proper MAXIMA adapter in any of these auctions. IMHO it's a waste of money... just go to McDonalds and get yourself a happy meal with that money and you will be a lot happier.

that one does not look too bad. The MAF adapter looks like plastic though, and you really want a metal one. Just make sure it's real K&N and not a knock off. I know it says it's a K%N, but you never know for sure untill you get it.

I got that one... despite what some people say it DOES help on the highway.. and the noise is nice too... dont expect anything on lowend if anything except the acceleration to be a little more laggy... and the plastic has not caused me any problems yet... And the metal has rusted yet... my friend had the same filter on his other car he's had it for years.. it never rusted.

that MAF adapter is a fiber type of plastic. the gasket is made of thick cork. when i tightened mine down the plastic bent at all four corners and it almost looks like there is a little gap between the gasket and adapter.. i just got a new metal one.

Yeah after trying many different filters i would have to say go with K&N all the way. The quality is far surpurior when it comes to how long the filter is actually gonna last.

I just replaced my KN with one of these ractive translcent filters. The bodyshop got paint on the filter so it had to be replaced. The ractive is not as loud and it seems to feel stronger on low end.
