help me!! car dying out

yesterday afternoon while driving to work my battery light and the emergency brake light came on, car still drove fine until last night when all of a sudden the lights got dim and the car was hesitating to move a little bit....got it home and the car starts up fine everytime with those 2 idiot lights still on....but if i go 2 drive it it doesnt last long...anyone know what the problem is??

get it chaged quick before u die on the side of hte road, autozone has umm for about 200 after the core. how to change is on http://www.motorvate.ca/mvp.php

alternator and battery are only about a year old, thats why i wan't thinking it was the alternator....thanks for your help tho and now that i think about it, it does seem like a crappy alternator

Mine died a few weeks ago. Burning smell and slight whine. If you got a voltmeter check the voltage at the battery terminals. Should be around 12-12.5 with engine off and around 14 or above with engine on. If voltage with engine on is the same as with engine off, that's another clue that your alt. is dead.
