How much space should be between clutch pedal and floor?

I read in the Chiltons manual that it's supposed to be 5 and 7/8 of an inch from the floor, but when toying with the adjustment, I can't get it higher up than 5" even releasing it fully.

any ideas?

I have the same situation as nyce maxima. My ACT clutch was left alone for bout 5,000 miles until I found out a way to make the grabbing point lower. So i adjusted the screw and now my engagement is REAL low. But now when I toy around with it, it won't go back up any higher no matter how much I spin it to the left. Is it really that bad to lower the clutch pedal height? I adjusted mine just a little bit higher than my brake pedal. What do u guys think?

I have a brand new factory clutch, i moved the master cylinder rod but it didn't help any as far as engagement point.. it still grabs really high.. only my shifter goes into gear a little bit easier now..

my pedal is a tiny bit higher than the brake as well.
