Cleaned my TB and now..........
so i decided to clean my throttle body yesterday. and now every time i start up my max the rpms jump to 2K and sit there for a while or until i press the gas then they drop down to 1K or 900. it never used to do this before. has anyone experienced this problem or know what can be done to fix this. any info would be appreciated. thanks.

I have the same problem as to what to do about it I don't know. I don't think it matters though.

you motors aluminum for it to idle high after start up without warmin gup first will slowly degrade the seals and bearings and engine componants that require oil to be pumped between them being that a cold car has thinker oil and, has not been circulated yet so... etc.. do the math

A 2K start is a little high. Sometimes the ECU will adjust to your freshly cleaned TB. Sometimes it can't. You might have to clean your IACV as well. Or you may have to tweak down your high idle screw on the fast idle plunger.
A Haynes manual is your friend.

Any instructions on IACV cleaning?
I think my max also deserves IACV cleanup but there is little information on the web.

best way to clean tb is to first spray a little bit of cleaner on butterfly plate and tb. Let it sit for a minute and wipe with a towel. next turn car on and spray cleaner for 10 sec and wait ten seconds. repeat until can is finished. If engine begins to choke wait longer between sprays.

I did the same way but car wouldn't run. I guess the car thought it was a big leak after the MAF. After it stalled, I tried a few more times...same thing. I just sprayed the rest of the bottle in, cleaned it up with a rag, started it up & it's been fine ever since.

you have to put everything back together and just not tighten the clamp around tb, stick the straw thing from tb cleaner into the gap to spray it in and engine will stay running.

look guys....i have cleaned my TB a lot of times...and i will say this. After you clean your IAC, bla bla bla, TB you must adjust again the IDLE this is the most important thing to do after all this good/hard job...you should know how adjust it...is simple just adjust the screw that is located on top of the IAC valve...

engine running high is normal after a TB cleaning...your ECU will
adjust itself accordingly...
you do this with the car running so that you can get the cleaning
solution deeper into the intake and clean some more...
I *believe* that you can simply remove the IACV and spray it liberally
with the cleaner...let it dry, and then re-install.
