Nissan Stumped... Window Trim Piece?

Well when going to my local Nissan dealership I was speaking to the same guy I always talk to when getting some parts, and I told him I was trying to find the chrome piece around the outside window found on GLE and I think GXE Models.

He proceeded to look through the computer database and was only able to find the black trim piece, which I already have on my SE. He then tells me maybe maximas don't have this piece. knowing this is not the case I told I have seen it on the models mentioned.

He says he will contact a Nissan specialist to see if he is able to find anything for me, a week later nothing. Myself thinking maybe it was only on the 97-99 instead of 95-96 also had him check that scenario and still the same results.

I know this piece exist, the only thought I have left is maybe the chrome piece is not a complete replacement for the trim, but maybe an “ADD” on that is place over the exciting window trim.

Does anyone have any ideas? Or possibly have this piece in great condition?

Thanks.

JP

There are different part numbers for the SE vs. the GLE/GXE. Below are the GLE/GXE numbers:

The front door has three pieces (about $120 list):
- 1. Moulding, Belt R: 80820-40U00 L: 80821-40U00
- 2. Mdg, Sash Front R: 80282-40U00 L: 80283-40U00
- 3. Mdg, Sash rear R: 80284-40U00 L: 80285-40U00

The rear door has four pieces (about $160 list):
-1. Moulding, Belt R: 82820-40U00 L: 82821-40U00
-2. Mdg, Door Sash Front R: 82284-40U00 L: 82285-40U00
-3. Mdg, Door Sash Upper R: 82282-40U00 L: 82283-40U00
-4. Mdg, Door Sash Rear R: 82286-40U00 L: 82287-40U00

The SE numbers are the same except for -40U10 at the end.

The blackout tape is for the center pillar, which is painted: R: 82812-40U60 L: 82813-40U00 $12 list

Checkout www.nissanparts.cc for prices.

Yeah, you are right. The SE has black trim (not vinyl over chrome) . The GXE and GLE both have the chrome. This applies to ALL 95-99 maximas. And may I ask, why would you want to get rid of your black SE trim? I think it's the better looking of the two.

The reason for the change, is to add to the overall appearance, as the subtle chrome trim will help with bring out the rest of the car’s details, as I continue to progress with some “Modifications” to the body.

Stay Tuned....
