Help: Buzzing noise coming from vent?
Help: Buzzing/ticking noise coming from vent?
Hi all,
I posted this in the General Maxima Discussion also.
I have a '95 Max GXE w/ 78K miles that I bought earlier this year. Just a couple days ago, I started hearing a buzzing/ticking noise coming from the fan. It gets louder as I turn up the fan speed. It also seems louder with the main dash vents than the floor or defrost vents.
Anyone else ever have this problem? Can you fix it yourself, or do you need to take it to the dealer?
I did a search on this but didn't find anything specific.
Thanks,
Nick

Re: Help: Buzzing/ticking noise coming from vent?
I just ran into and resolved this problem the other day. Take out your glovebox and look for the cylinder thingy with up against the firewall that spins. I had a wrapper stuck in that thing and it was buzzing when I put my A/C on and it was annoying the hell out of me. Could be the same problem you're having. Just have a flashlight handy and turn the blower on and off to see it spin. I was actually able to see the wrapper, but you may have to take the assembly apart. I don't know how easy/hard that will be.
