Had a starting problem what is up? (Please Help)

The other day i got out some school early(skipped) to go to a job interveiw, and i came out all happy ready to leave and stuffed my key in the hole, turned it and nothing happened. It did not even try to turn. I just got the alternator replaced about 5-6 months because of the recall for the 97's. I had a friend try to jump me, and it did nto work until some other guys came over with one of those jumper things. I started driving home and as i pulled into my neibrohood the car dided while driving. Luckly i was in walking distance of my house and went and got another batterey out of my dad's 5th gen, and got it home.

I took the batery to get tested and i came out that the battery was in good condition. It had no charge form some reason but it was a good battery. This car is costing way to much, and i take care of it like a *****. What can cause this? What can i do to check it out. This is car is ****in me off. All help would be helpful!

Hmm.. Good battery but no charge. Sounds like a faulty alternator or a loose connection between the alternator and the battery.
Even though you said you got it replaced recently I'd take it to autozone and have them check the alternator for free.

My 'guess' may surprise you.

Go to any local autoparts store (or a Wal-Mart) and buy a battery terminal cleaner. It constists of an 'O' shaped terminal wire brush and a pipe cleaner looking wire brush. Scrape the crap out of the clamps and the terminals and put it back together. If your battery is dead you'll need to jump it to get it started.

But hey, if that doesn't work, you're only out $5... (but you should clean the terminals anyway as dirty connections are known to blow out alternators and other electrical components).

By the way, I had this problem 3 months ago and my Dad did last Sunday as well. Not to mention a few other friends that I know. So I believe it's worth a shot.

Good luck.
