Removing that was a stupid move. And what is even more stupid is you saying "Guess I'll have to be real extra super careful now." You swear that everyone on the road is an "extra super careful driver" too. That bar may very well save your life. Put it back on.

I haven't looked at the max much but on most cars the bulk of the metal/foam etc in the bumpers are for the 10mph crash tests (supose to have little to NO damage), not the life threatening crashes. Everybody remember CRUMPLE ZONES!! Manufacturers actually design the frame to be weak in parts of the car so the crush EASIER. The bumpers are for BUMPing. Not for saving your life.

I expect the only thing bad about removing the front and rear structure is that if you back into a pole or bump something up front you may dent the trunk or hood where with the metal you may not. Personally I don't run into poles but apparently the US GOV't thinks a lot of people do.

The european and japanees models probably don't even have that stuff in the first place.

He didn't post this thread for peoples approval. He obviously knows that it is a safety feature, and doesn't seem too concerned about it, so why is everyone else. Im sure he has parents that B!tch at him everyday, so I don't think he needs everyone on the org to do the same. BTW I wouldn't do it for the limited gains you will get out of it, but the way I drive I need all the safety features I can Get
