lol...ur a dang fool if you think its only taking 2 hours

Whats with all this negative BS? at least he is trying, thats why we dont have anything for maximas. Nobody is forced to buy.
i know hes trying, but i dont want him to expect a 2 hour install, get frustrated...end up paying for more install than he thought, taking up the time of the maxima owner going in there

If you can get the EGR port installed, I'd be happy to test these for you. I live in Buffalo, and need to Dyno anyways. It would also show you the gains in a boosted car.

wow... No matter if the headers will sell or not, nice job Nashua...I wish that I could build the same headers like yours. Its about the ideea of creating something .I don t think that Catman s or Budget or Stillens bolt ons were perfect from the first try. But they got better. And that doesn t come without frustration or hard work . So please prove the negative people that the biggest risc is not taking one. You are a winner already no matter what.

Wow, no wonder this board has the rep that it does. You guys are seriously a bunch of a$$holes! The guy comes on here, offers us a FREE set of headers and you b!tch? Get a life.
Nashua, like I had said and per our phone conversation, I'm more than happy to test them. Give me until the 15th and we'll get it going, unless you decide that you want it done earlier than that.

If I lived close I'd do it. Won't know if they work unless they are tried.
I agree longer headers that replaced the y-pipe would be more effective but would likely cost more.
People spend lots more $ on stuff that is just cosmetic. These look so nice even if they aren't for HP they could be good for show and tell.
What's with the flower? How a about something less feminin =)

can everyone stop TALKING, and start DOING? There's all this negativity and pessimissm towards a 'new' product. So what if its been done before? Maybe before, it wasnt optimized correctly. And all this talk about porting the manifolds.. headers and manifolds are COMPLETELY different. Thanks Nashua for your efforts... atleast you are "trying" to expand our aftermarket.
From what I've experience through my time on the .org is that if you come with a new product that has been tried and failed to increase HP than you better come with dynos, and facts and to back up what your doing. Cause you're going to get drilled hard by everyone. I think it's great that this guy is trying to bring a new product but he just better be ready. Like he's doing, he should just find someone to test it out, dyno it, and then sell it. Only thing we need to know is that he's trying to make some headers find someone who let you test it and once you have all the facts then come let the rest be known. That way you don't have all these people giving you crap.

These have NOT been tried. People are talking about someone who PORTED his MANIFOLDS! Log type MANIFOLDS, not HEADERS! There is a huge diff!
On to your comment about getting all the facts and then coming to the org... that's what he's doing! He's GIVING someone a FREE set of headers to install and dyno. That's what this post is for. Nothing less, nothing more. To give someone a set of headers and have them tested / dyno'd so that he can sell them. People started ragging on him right away because they don't know what they are talking about. Shorty headers show significant gains on some cars, with little to none on others. Who knows what they're going to do on our cars? Only way to find out is to test them.
Unless you guys have something USEFULL to contribute to this thread regarding testing and yoiur willingness to do so, quit posting. It's been made very clear how alot of you think, so leave it alone and wait for the tests and dynos!
This is crazy...way too much overreaction on both sides. Dude is doing the right thing: offering a free test set, getting dynos in order to prove the gains to people. There are so many times on here that everyone rushes to put something new on their car, then the ***-dyno results swing the other way and everyone goes back to stock or gets something new...in this case we're going to get eral results...if they don't do anything, fine, if they do EVEN BETTER!
@Nashua - I am in Boston. If it comes down to it I would probably be willing to test these out. I've only got a Frankencar and suspension on my car right now...so it's pretty stock. I'm not the most experimental person with my car, but if no one else can come through I would probably be willing to do it.
I also know someone with a supercharged max around here that might be interested...

Why don't you dyno? Your car should put down better numbers than mine, no?
I'm not worried about dynoing until I get a 3.25" pully on there. Then I'll have different injectors and need the tuning. Right now, it would seem like a waste.
Get your Mom to send me a check for the Dyno, and I'll go!

Yo man I dig the creativity, I used to have a honda and I used to go to the forums on accordclub.com/hondasociety.com, and the love their is great people, try things with their car, and people do things, people here on this forum tend to be pessimistic, and tend to be scared of change, this is one of the reasons why there isnt anything available for our cars, just due to our behaviors alone, we have to learn to be more open/willing, and appreciative, especially if you can't do something for yourself, why even speak. People who speak, should have knowledge and learn to not be ignorant. All I can say is be easy, be open, be positive, give someone credit when it is do, dont playa hate, congratulate.

I agree, I think what most Honda owners call being creative, Maxima owners call being rice.

I feel what dude is saying actually, but I also see a lot of Honda dudes repping products that anyone with a brain KNOWS doesn't do ****. I think people here are way to quick to condemn things...especially when the person selling them is willing to give some away free in order to get hard results to prove the gain or non-gain...but it's also good to be skeptical. We don't want to waste our money on products that are pure bull****. People condemning the headers outright before seeing the dynos are dumb, but accepting the claims without any proof is even dumber.Originally posted by FLAVOR247

Thanks, for feeling me somewhat, dont get me wrong, alot of that stuff out there, not specifically reserved for honda's is pure rice/bs. but at the same time people there will try many different things to do to their car to make you say whoa? like there is some guy on here in the 3rd gen forum, who has the taillight convers. of a gs300/wrx airbag setup, that is probably the most amazing max i've seen out there, just for creativity purposes. I like seeing new things being developed. All I can say is much props to you man, if I were in your area I would be down. Keep up the good work, get a max, and do the dayum thing on ur own car, keep ur mouth shut to the haters, and spank their azzes on the road. holla back.

It's because most of us are older and understand what works and what doesn't and what's BS and what's not. Chalk it up to to experience. We prefer to do things that work. We like tasteful modifications, not rice lights, huge wings, 20" wheels, 3" drops, etc. Originally Posted by Show Maxima

The reason a lot of people doubt the gains of headers is because Emax (Ethan) ran a set of headers on this I30 and made fairly weak power (~176fwhp, I/E/Udp/headers). Don ported a set of stock manifolds and gained a whopping 1hp. Cattman has currently developed headers and has already admitted this is a mod best saved for those with SCs because the gains aren't terribly great in comparsion to just the y-pipe. A good flowing set of headers is something that takes a lot of time to develop. Just because it's pretty looking pipe doesn't mean it's going to flow better than the nasty looking rusty cast manifolds. There are principles behind developing headers/manifolds. The reason these headers are slightly questionable is:
1) There's no EGR bung
2) Internal design doesn't look to good
3) There's no dyno info which is odd because a dyno should have been used to develop the headers in the first place
4) The headers look exactly like the headers that were seen on Ebay months ago.
I could be completely wrong (I hope I am), but I say there will be minimal gains from these headers. The VQ needs a good set of longer tube headers to really perform and make some gains. I think Don and Cattman realized this a while ago, but noticed there isn't the room to do it, especially on the back side. You get around 12-13fwhp/tq with a y-pipe and I'd bet we'll see 3-5fwhp with the headers, maybe.
I'm all for people developing useful mods for the Maxima, but shorty headers have already been done and we already know the answers for the most part. I hope I'm wrong about these.
Dave
wow, negative and imformative, all rolled into one. Its the same stuff everyone has been saying, just in one post... i think there is nothing new anyone can say, its now a waiting game.
