Yeah but how much does this cost? Mine has been really bad so I covered it with a cheap steering wheel cover, but it looks like a$$. Dealer prob. charges like $100 or so?

uh, i'd say look on ebay. if it's black , i found one for ya. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2428203773
Even if you got tan stock, black does look nice. In 97+ SE's they were black even with tan interior.

I saw that one, and it does look good, and for a good price. the 97 SEs really had a black steering wheel with tan interior, huh? and it looked good? well that's a definite possiblilty then.

but i prefer to keep the car as stock as possible (even though i like the 97 steering wheel better than my 95's).

i'll keep looking, but thanks!

go to www.car-parts.com and update the steering wheel with the newer designded (thicker one) you will be happier with it than the old skinny one.
search for 97 and newer. It should just bolt on the same.

97+ have different airbags don't they, or does the airbag cover from a 97+ fit? Also aren't there some different electrical connections, at least with the cruise control?

97+ you have to get a different airbag and you have to mod the 97+ wheel to fit the 95-96. And dealer wants 700 for a new one. Just a few facts.

Check with this place to see if they have your pattern:

http://www.aglausa.com/

They use pretty much the exact same pattern dies that Nissan would have used and I bet their color matches are pretty good. Think of this as more custom and wheelskins as generic "one size fits all" in comparison.

To find out how to replace the wrapping using one of the AGLA kits, check out this site:

http://www.stuttswap.com/stuttswap/recover.html

It has lots of tips and pics of steering wheels this guy's worked on.

Calling the dealer wouldn't have done any good cuz he would have fainted after they told him the list price on a new rim was $773.86 but he might regain consciousness when they tell him he could get it for only $657.78 (prices from North Texas Nissan online parts finder)

ok,

the electrical connections on the airbags are different...so you would have to change your whole electrical wiring under the dash,...a pain...I just did it..and you would also need to get a new airbag module as the connection here is also different.

96shogunmax,

Can you elaborate on what is needed to make the 97 wheel fit a 95/96...I'm probably going to have to do that soon.

THanks,

Ola
