Where can I find a new stock muffler for my '97 Maxima? The Pep Boys in my area said that they can't get it. I am trying to get a new one because mine rusted bad. Thanks!

The only place you can find a STOCK (read : OEM) muffler is probably from the junkyard or the dealer. Autozone/pep boys and places like that dont carry OEM mufflers or anything of that nature. At least not that i know of...

why would Pep bOYS OR ANY ONE except your NISSAN DEALER have stock maxima mufflers???

 

how much are you looking to spend? why not get an aftermarket for less?

PS there is a brand new one from pinnacle nissan for 192.49, the local dealer will charge you about 250.00

 

I just grabbed an OEM muffler from Autozone for $79.00 - and its not a Cherry Bomb or Turbo Bomb or RICECAN...it says OEM and its just as quiet as my original before it $hit the bed.

 

you can also get a 5th gen. Looks better and you get about a pony more.

 

Does it say OEM NISSAN??? Every company has parts with OEM on them...

 

The dumpster at meinke in pittsburgh, mine should be there, just buy an aftermarket, excuse for a new mod.
