headlight lenses seem dull...who here has sanded/polished them?

As the subject states, my headlight lenses on my 98 seem yellowish/sandblasted. Who here has managed to get them to look brand new, through the use of sandpaper, plastic polish or some other means? Exactly how did you do it? I compared my headlights to my cousin's 97, and his look far more clear.

Thanks
Phil

i used Blue MAgic Plastic cleaner
First i took glass cleaner in a can. i let the foam settle down and wiped off. then applied the plastic cleaner/polish and they were like new. i repeated about 3 times and then put car wax on hte lights

Novus polish worked very well for me. Get all three stages if you are going to use it. You will need all three to get the best results. It's pretty amazing what this stuff can do. I originally got it to fix some CD's (scratches) and figured it would come in handy for a lot of other things. It did, and the headlights were just one.

Well guys after searching the org and such, people also suggested Muguire's plastic polish....and so I tried it. It worked a tiny bit, but the headlights are still literally sandblasted. Has anyone ever tried sanding them down, with like a fine wet sand, then polishing them after? Please let me know.
Thanks

White Compound works excellent! Rub ample amouts of it in really hard and your lenses will look like new again. A high speed machine will generate heat and work 10x faster cleaning them up. Be carefull not to burn or melt them with a machine.
