Glue or double sided tape to attach emblems?

I removed the hamburger and M-A-X-I-M-A emblems and decided to put them back on. Im just not sure what Im supposed to use to put them back on. I went to AutoZone and all they had was a glue made by 3M for plastic emblems. Im not sure if it would be safe for the paint.

autozone, pepboys, any car place, scotch also makes good stuff, just make shure its thin and a gray color. usually they come with a red plastic backing on it. its also called molding tape or mounting tape

Use the grey 3m Tape, and place it flat along the back of the whole emblem, then use an x-acto knife to cut out the holes and sides of the lettering. And then to re-apply, its easier to run a long piece of tape through the front of the emblem and then make it so that the tape is the same length on each side of the trunk - that way the emblem should be centered.
