Engine Mounts

My engine mounts are pretty soft. Where is the best place to buy them? I dont want anything performance stiff, something like stock. I have a 5 speed so theres 2 engine, 2 tranny mounts. How much should I expect to pay and is it a DIY or do I have to go to a mechanic?

3 engine, 1 tranny i think
replace the one towards the front of the car and the one towards the rear. I think it's $120 for both from the dealership (or is that for 1?)

Anywhere else besides dealer, maybe a cheap option? DIY or no?

i got one for my old car, 94 camry at a dealership for under 50 i believe, don't go to strauss or any retail store, they charge around double for it, just buy it and I installed it myself for the engine mount.

I filled mine with Polyurathane (sp?) when I swapped my engine. They are a little stiffer than stock, but not a ton. I think they are a perfect "in between".

You could use softer poly if you didn't want as much stiffness.

No problem.

My input on ericdwong's information.

If you're going to do all 4 mounts, you'll need more than 1lb of poly. I tried to use all 1 for all 4, and it wasn't quite enough. I had to skimp on the side motor and tranny mount.

Leave yourself 4 or 5 days to let them set. And that crap makes a major mess. Wear junk clothes, and do it on something that can be trashed.

Do you think you can get away with just doing the engine mounts on the support beam? Since those mounts take most the the engine movement.(rotational rocking).

The only problem I have is the down time. My max with be on jack stands for maintenance (replacing struts and other stuff myself) but I don't think it will be up for 4 - 5 days. I will need it before that. - crap. I will book mark the sites though. thx

Yes, that would cause the greatest improvement.

You could let them cure under some heat, and they would cure faster.
