Braking Vibration

When I brake hard I get a hard vibration throughout the car. I have 41K on my SE. Are 4th Generations notorious for warping rotors?

What do you recommend?

Yes.

Get them resurfaced or replace them with Brembos.

Autozone's cheapest rotors ($29/pop) work like a charm!

that is the abs that is working. if your car doesnt have abs then something else is wrong but i am pretty sure that is the abs. when i brake hard in my 2.5 tl it does the same thing.

In order for you to realise the benefits, you need to know how to drive with ABS. In an emergency, most drivers will jam on the brakes as hard as possible. With ABS, this is the right thing to do but when the ABS starts working there may be a vibration or shuddering through the car and the brake pedal may pulsate. Some drivers think that something is drastically wrong and take their foot off the brake. This is the wrong thing to do - for ABS to work properly your foot must remain firmly on the brake pedal.

here is the link about abs

Mine's just started doing this as well. Don't think it's the ABS though as it's only just started doing it, and I haven't changed the way I brake.
I only just got them re-surfaced in Feb. I wouldn't have thought they would need to be done again this soon? I haven't been braking hard or riding the brakes either

It's true...you get what you pay for. But you can also pay too much for stuff you don't need. I've been running with them for 3 years with no problems whatsoever.

Happened to my last car... heavy braking causes the car to vibrate and make a weird noise? kinda deep and heavy sound, like loud tires on moving pavement? you have warped rotors which is no good, the stock ones dont last forever with heavy braking, a lot of stop and go, racing or whatever. get some new ones!

means the braking rotor (grabbed by the pads and calipers) is no longer true, and perfectly flat. kinda wobbles side to side, lowers braking peformance, CAN make the car wobble, make a deep weird noise

like crossdrilled rotors? Hehe. Aggresive driving might warrant slotted rotors, but regular driving won't need anything but those autozone rotors.

Check out the group deal forum for aftermarket rotors. There's some Brembo Zinc blanks going for $40something for a pair.

and the maxima being a curvey lady of a car... stopping good is important. i opted for some nicer rotors than just solid plain rotors, but its not really necessary

no, cuz my car with that problem was not ABS...heavy braking (abs or not) warped the braking rotors over time, develops that wobble

Hi Guys
My 99 Maxima GLE makes this noise even when brakes are not applied, especialy noticable on smooth pavement when road noise is minimal. I was even thinking about CV joints. Can you hear warped rotors without brakes applied?

You can't hear warped rotors.

Get under your car and look at the boots for the CV joints. If they're ripped, then you need new ones... Go here: http://www.motorvate.ca/mvp.php/400

brakes not applied making noise....kinda sounds like the squeeler pads on the brakes, they can kinda make a little squeeling noise/jingling sound. tells you that your brake pads are worn out, how old are you pads?

Pads are new and the noise is not squiling. It sounds more like bumpy tire, but I check tires already.
