Getting a custom exhaust next week! .. what size tip?

Well, I took a trip to a local custom exhaust shop and they quoted me 250$ for a 2.5" aluminum catback with a resonator, a turbo muffler and the stainless tip of my choice. They had some nice slant cut rolled tips in stock, but I'm wondering what you guys would think is the best size (diameter)? I'm leaning towards 3.5" or 4"

hmmm little expensive but nothing to horrible....3.5 to 4 should be fine. just hold up the tips to where the cutout is and find the best one. it's what i did with my 1st exhaust. go with what you like. then i went and got a magnaflow =]

the bigger your exhaust tip is, the hotter it'll smoke. so i say go with 10 inch tip

j/k

Yeah, It's a very well respected shop, not to mention the only one within 30 minutes of my house (besides Meinekee, which I wont be bringing my car to). Hopefully the quality of work will reflect the price.

i got my OBX catback for $290 shipped.

got a 4" tip.

i would NOT go smaller.

4" looks nice...barely noticeable IMO. i would go for 4.5 i think...depends what look you are going for. definitely not 3.5 tho...too small!q

i have a 3.5 fits the stock cutout great. 3.4 to 4. anything bigger would start to get really ugly imo...good luck. as i said hold up the tips while your car is on the lift. it'll be the best way to see what you'll get. check out my homepage i have a few pics of mine.
