spark plug gap for 96 gle auto ?
I searched under the hood and in the owners manual.
In the manual in the spec section it has a ' - ' for the spec.
I got the nissan (ebay) plugs - ngk pfr5g-11.
The maunal mentions 4g and 6g plugs. What are they used for ?
The first plug (front/timing chain) came out brown/red in color.
Normal ?
Thanks for the help.

The gap should be between 0.039 and 0.043 inches (1.0 to 1.1mm). I just installed mine, I bought them from Courtesy Nissan.
PFR4G-11 plugs are Hot type plugs, and the PFR6G-11 are a Cold type plugs.
I checked all of my new plugs from Nissan (PFR5G-11) and they were all 0.039.

Thanks for the reply.
What color residue is on your plugs ?
I got a reddish color. The rear timing side had a build up on it.
I don't know the history as i bought it used at 122km.

No problem.
My sparkplugs had a brown to grayish-tan that the Haynes manuals states is normal. What kind of deposits did you have? If you did not have any then it may be normal. Pick up a Haynes manual and compare it. I bought mine on Ebay for around $13 dollars total. Maybe next time I will look on Ebay to save some cash on the plugs, I paid $57 dollars.
