Greddy SP vs. A'pexi WS

I wanted to get a catback exhaust and was wondering what you guys think. I am wanting the best sound, while also giving some power. I know the greddy is more of a straight through design then the apexi, but I heard it is alo much louder. The apexi is supposedly quiet, but at WOT it is supposed to sound really mean. Anyone heard both of them or have any opinions? THANKS. PLEASE VOTE!!!!

The greddy sp2 should be quieter. I recommend waiting for it if you can. Otherwise you can get the current model for cheaper now.

Apexi WS

Nice sweet tone, nothing too loud. And its about $100 less than the Greddy.

The Greddy SP is pretty good because it is the sound is deep and low.

I loved my bro's Apexi RS on his 2k Max. Now he has the Evo and it sounds like a Honda. Ever hear the hachi roku in initial D after the motor swap? Greddy sounds like that...like farty. The Apexi was bubbly, like a mustang/domestic...agressive and intimidating. Greddy's wimpy noise...sounds mechanical.

Up to you. Both excellent systems. Can't go wrong w/them.

I have the greddy SP, and I think it sounds great....its not much louder than stock. I see alot of people posting that its loud but its the most quiet exhaust I have heard on a modified MAX. I dont know if it because the set up I have (cattman y, high flow cat, and greddy SP), but I am very happy with it....when the intake starts growling, you cant hear the exhaust. just my 2cts

Not trying to get off topic but I thought about getting both these two exhaust before getting the OBX, I actually was suprised at how the OBX sounded compared to these two. I think that it is a better deal overall compare to these systems, I got my for bout $250. For half the price, it is a full ss mandrel bent-catback, it quite at cruise speed and at WOT it sound mean. The only drawback is that its only a 2.25in which really isn't as big factor as sound quality. You should look in to it and compare it to these exhausts, it give them a run for their money.

I know I'm just adding to this "off topic" thing, but the Greddy is 2.5" correct? Now the OBX is 2.25. Isnt that what our stock exhaust is? More gains from Greddy as opposed to OBX? Money is an issue, but if I'm getting more gains from Greddy rather than the OBX I wanna buy... sorry to steal the thread.

As far as for NA motors the 2.25 vs 2.5 would not make a big enough difference in power. You are expected to get about 7-8 hp at most. My car with intake, ypipe, hi flow cat and Obx exhaust, I dynoed at 182 hp and 187lbs-torque. I still would choose the OBX over these two exhaust especially because of the price.

I've had the Greddy SP, I got it for a good deal at $350 off of Ebay a long time ago. If I didn't get such a good deal, I would've gotten the APEX'i WS. It is quieter and about $100 less, looks almost the same. I've never gone with OBX products so I tend to stay away from them since they're cheap and it seems like you get what you pay for. Its up to you.

I LOVE my new OBX Type-H. It's awesome. Not cheap at all. Dual resonated, fiberglass pack muffler, 4.5" tip. The only problem I'm having is tip alignment, but when I get the chance to work on it, It's gonna be fixed.

BTW, It sounds awesome.

Tough call, I'd have to see (in person)and hear both cat backs. I've heard a Greddy and it's music to my ears.

im thinking we should start a new thread for each setup: each post will contain 3 separate videos.

1. Outside car idle and then rev
2. In cab driving
3. Wide open throttle outside pass

this would be the best way for everyone to make up their minds on what sounds good to them.

is this possible ?

i can do my setup: warpspeed y, no cat, warpspeed b, magnaflow muffler

private message me if you can showcase your exhaust and i will start the thread,

we need OBX, megan racing, apexi ws, greddy sp, cattman, magnaflow...etc
