My '96 leather (power, heated) front seat bottoms are showing some wear. Most of the wear is along the sides closest to the doors (where you first sit when getting in). Can I switch the 2 front seat bottoms (passenger to driver & driver to passenger)? This will put the bad edges to the center and give me fresh edges near the doors.

If it's possible, how involved is the job?

I am unsure wether its possible or not, but if you switch the bottoms, the power controls will be next to the center console and it will be a pain trying to adjust your seat

 

maybe you can just swap the leather covers.

 

Might want to try looking to buy some used leather seats.... just might find something with a good deal.

 

For 600 bucks you can get new aftermarket leather for your car. Save some money and upgrade your seats when the time is right.
