which fluid?
Ok..I know some smart A$$ will tell me to search the past threads on this..
I am curious what I need to use, EXACLTY, in my 4th gen tranny for REDLINE fluid. I will use AMSOIL if someone can tell me which to use. I am going to take it to a place that does the full flush with the 'sucking' machine. Please let me know how much fluid I need for the Auto tranny, and where to get it cheapest!
Thanks,
SHUMAX

I got your answer, man.
You need 11-16 quarts of Redline D4 ATF (not normal Redline ATF). The transmission holds 10.5 quarts exactly, but most places that do total fluid exchange like Jiffy Lube use the T-tech exchange pump, which holds 16 quarts. Theoretically they could fill the reservoir with only 12 quarts and run the machine, but it's made to work with 16, so that's how much I gave them. Total cost: $200 for service ($70) and 16 quarts fluid ($130, including shipping).
It's an expensive process, and I'm not sure I would do it again if I had the choice. The transmission doesn't seem to shift any smoother than before. Well maybe it does a little bit, but it's hardly noticeable. It's more for peace of mind, really. I still get my fluid drained and refilled every 15k miles anyways.
