AAhhh! Help What this stuff in my TB?
I just bought some NGK copper spark plugs and was about to clean the throttle body. When I disconnected my midpipe, I saw oil in the TB and in the midpipe!
Have have included pics of it. I don't know if the oil came from the hose that connects to the part of the engine where you pour oil into( I'm so frantic I don't even know the proper name). The oil level is fine though. Here are some pics. Is this serious? What could have happpened? I ambout to clean it now though. Please help. I don't know if this is causing the wierd noise I get under acceleration. Here was my previous post: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=245981

i have read about MEVI people getting oil in the butterfly valvle area, but never in the throtle body
MAYBE, the oil came from the front head. the one closer to the radiator. since that hose is connected to the midpipe maybe it came from there

K&N oil is red, not golden black
i would go OEM, it lasted you 6+ years so it should last another 6+years

for 7$ might as well go OEM

What does the PCV valve have to do with it?? The PCV valve sends crankcase vapor DIRECTLY into the intake manifold. If anything, I would say it's the oil vapors in the blow-by gas coming from the crankcase vent going back into the intake. http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=235740
