Is something wrong with my car? (has to do with acceleration)

1) Ok guys, I've noticed that I don't get any wheel spin when I floor it in first unless I floor it and am turning at least a little bit, do the rest of you get wheel spin when u floor it in 1st gear? (im 5 speed) I have no codes from the ecu as of right now and I dont know if anything is wrong, I can easily chirp the 1 - 2 shift but u can do that in almost any 5 speed.

2) Do you guys with stock intakes notice that you can break the tires loose in first gear?

3) Do you guys with hybrid intakes (mid pipe and filter [no cai]) tend to not be able to spin at all in first unless gunning it while turning?

4) I have yet to clean my TB and am not sure if the previous owner ever did it or not, car has 102k on it... and im not sure if the fuel filter has ever been changed either. The car really doesnt feel all that sluggish, but im sure these both would help, would they dramatically help to the point where I CAN spin the wheels a little bit in 1st?

thanx all for any help!!!

i've spun my tires once or twice in my life in first gear. i think the two main factors would be how sticky your tires are, and also what RPM in first gear you floor it to attempt to spin the tires. Obviously if I floor at 2000 rpm I will get no wheel spin, but at 4000 theres a much greater chance. also if youre going slightly uphill it will help. i'll try it out today and see if i can do it.

Well alot depends on your tires. When i was running on POS tires i bought the car with, anytime i gunned it in first no matter what RPM, i would spiiin, now, since i upgraded to wider, stickier yokohama AVS ES100, pretty much no wheel spin, but their holding on for dear life...

I'm stock. When I bought my car it had a combination of Toyo Proxes (I think they were OE) and Dunlop SP Sport W10's. The Toyos were crap. I could easily break them lose in 1st and they were miserable in the rain. The Dunlops were better but I could still break them lose around turns in 1st.

Now I have a set of new Dunop SP Sport A2s on. They seem pretty good but I haven't tried any truly hard driving yet.
