Anyone give me a real clear runthrough on tightening throttle cable?

Anyone give me a real clear runthrough on tightening throttle cable?

There are two cables attached to your throttle body. One is from the cruise control and the other is from your gas pedal. Just take the excessive slack out of both of them. Don't go tight or you may experiance a high idle speed.

If you don't already own a Haynes/Chilton/whoever else makes books for cars, you need to go buy one and read it. If you already own one open it up and read it.

It is worth the money.

Loosen the lock nuts on bracket and adjust it, pretty straight forward. Pulling the cable back makes it tighter. You'll see.....

Ok, I just did it...I wasn't sure which NUTS people were talking about, but I figured it out. The nuts in question are the two that are on top of the unit, on either side of a bracket, that the wires are threaded through...loosen them both up and you can move and adjust the tension that way, and you don't have to touch the cables...which I thought you did...works great, start your car, to make sure you didn't tighten them too tight and voila!!!

Much more response now...mine cable had like a quarter inch play in it!
