Go to your local auto parts store and buy a manual for your car. Like a Haynes or Chilton. It will help you very much.

It is not too bad of a swap, I'll give the quick rundown from best of memory

1. FIRST UNHOOK YOUR BATTERY!!

2. Then, there are two bolts holding the starter to the transmission. A 17mm and a 14mm. Remove those and pull the starter out.

3. You are now left with a harness and big wire bolted on.
-Unclip the harness
-Take a 14mm socket and remove the big power wire off the starter

4. Reverse that for install.

Also, I don't know if people have as good as luck on starters as I do, but maybe its good or bad to buy from autozone. I bought one with lifetime warranty - and have had to take them up on that warranty more than once already... so maybe aftermarket is crap, but who knows as long as they keep giving me starters I'm not too upset.

www.motorvate.ca has a good write-up on it, its for fixing that grinding starter noise, but it still tells u how to take it out, good luck!

How much did autozone charge for the starter? What other places has them? Mine went out yesterday. I finally got it to work after hitting it, but did me no good since I flooded the engine while trying to start it so much :-(

if you dont mind changin the starter go to autozone or any discount auto store and pick up a lifetime one for prob bout 100-150. If you want to change it once and know its going to last a long time go see nissan

Oh man! I know how you feel....Last month I backed into a deer or he backed into me. Now, instead of changing the rear bumper, im saving up for a body kit. I checked to see if the poor thing was ok but that dude ran so fast into some bushes!
