cleaning headlights

hey everyone, i just bought a maxima a couple of weeks ago, 96 black se, and i would like to know how do you clean the headlights. mine look kind of yellowish and dull right now, and i was wondering what i can do to fix it. also, is that yellow color coming from inside the headlight or outside? thanks

Light rubbing compound and elbow grease works great.

I believe that most headlights are made of Lexan plastic. I'm sure that mine are (97 Maxima). It is areally strong plastic which is why you can clean it with rubbing compound. Anything mildly abrasive should work. Try waxing them with regular car wax after that. There have been many threads on maxima.org on cleaning the inside of them. Some are creative, but I haven't tried any.
