Optima Yellow Top Battery...who here is using one? pros/cons over oem?

Who here is running an optima yellow top battery? Any noticable differences over stock? What about the guys with heavy electrical loads (ie an aftermarket stereo, an hid kit, etc). Any huge differences before/after? I noticed that Costco started to carry them down where I live.

Thanks

Do you know what month Consumers reports this was? We get that magazine every month, so I need to search for it.

I love mine

I bought 6 Yellow tops from I guy I know that was testing EV's about 2 years ago. He used them for 1 month and sold them to me for $60 each. I thought I'd put one in my Maxima (coincidently my stock battery went out the very next day) and sell the rest to my friends. I noticed that my car cranked faster, but that was probably because I was use to an almost dead battery. It's been 2 years since I installed it and I love it. When I work on the car or wash it, I leave the stereo on and drain the battery. It'll automatically shut down reserving enough energy to re-crank it. Then, drive it around for a day, and it's back up and charged. I also have a trickle battery charger just in case things don't work out.

When my stock battery went about 2 years ago, I replaced it with a yellow top. I'm running 2000 watts of stereo, and it made quite a big difference. Cranks faster, has never given me a problem, and dims less during the big bass hits in comparison to the stock battery. Apart from the price, they are by far superior to the stock ones.

I was wrong - maybe 1st year it was out

[Oct 02 issue sez optima was among the longest lasting --- but Motocraft test tough and duralast gold lasted nearly as long - and delivered more reserve capacity for less money
