Can anyone tell me if there is such thing as heat resistant insulation for the tubing of the intake? I don't mean constructing a metal heat shield around the cone, but something to wrap around the piping to keep it cooler.

Are AE lights the one with black "tint" (smoked) around the main light beam opening? I looked around for good pictures, for comparison, but I couldn't find any good ones. Do you have any? And how much ~ are they?

 

Also Jepth, regarding the pillars. I saw pictures of that done, and I think it is neat how you can just strip them and expose the body paint, but I am planning on tinting the windows darker and it will look somoother IMO with a solid black front to back instead of with a gold piece in the middle.

maciek - yes....and you can do them yourself basically you take the lens apart and paint inside around the light. there's a post somewhere where there's a lot of pics when i find it i'll let you know...i'm bored at work all day.

I saw that mod step by step too, Sam. Seems like you just tape off the reflective area and "smoke" the outside. I am gonna look for it too, to make sure how to take the headlight apart.
P.S. I am screwing around at work too , oh well...

 

the headlight comes apart like the tails....you can use a heat gun or the oven trick...i've never taken my headlights apart though.
