Possible to place CAI in a different place?

Initially I didn't want to install a CAI in my '99 because I think it's irrational to spend circa $200 for a few HP's. However, I saw some CAI's on ebay for a decent price so I'm planning to purchase.

I'm concerned about water getting into the intake, since it rains in KY constantly. Is it possible to place the intake somewhere else, or should I be concerned about the water problem??? Or should I just buy an air intake - no CAI?!?

Also, is it a good idea to buy a CAI off of ebay??
Example:

Thanks

Water isn't an issue unless you plan on driving thru 1' flooded areas. If you do, you're an idiot because 5" of water is enough to lift a car.

- No, I don't plan to use my Max as a boat; therefore I'm not an idiot!! However, the roads I drive on tend to retain water for a long time and a possiblitiy of hydroplaning is eminent. That would cause water to be splashed all over the fender well and what not.

Thanks for the answers though!!
