E-Brake

I posted this a couple weeks ago and was referd to a web site but i lost the URL and the search seems to be down?

my E-brake is having some problems. it is very lose. i proped the car up pulled the e-brake and the back right wheel could still spin. the left was solid.

anyway the URL was explaining how lifts crunch the brake cable and mess it up, and how i should bend the braket so that it wont crunch, i get how this will prevent future problems but will this slove my problem as well? or do i have to get the brake wire replaced?

Thanx for the help guys

-Ohhh and VERY VERY off topic just wondering if anyone has attempted to "RED" out Altezza lights? pics? maybe?

I had to replace my driver side e-brake cable & I decided to let the dealer do that. The Haynes manual doesn't provide enough details for me to chance it. FYI - there is a e-brake cable for each side. They both connect to a "balancer" which is then connected to the hand brake. (sorry, it probably doesn't make much sense without having a picture in front of you!).

I'm in Toronto and the cable cost about C$100 and it took about 1hr of labor to get it installed. Ouch! btw, I busted my cable boot right by the rotor when I was trying to wrestle my rear caliper off the very first time I changed my own pads.

I painted the hoodliner myself. After I painted my sprakplug cover with high temp enamel paint, I still had 80% of the spray can full. So I decided to go at the hoodliner. In hindsight, that was a good and bad idea. The painting turn out nicely with the color. Though because I used enamel paint, it's got no flex agent in it. As a result, the paint has got a brittle finish. To do it properly, you should really try to find a paint that's both got high temp characteristics AND not got enamel content which becomes brittle once dry.

It took me about 5-7 light coats of paint to get a finish that even in color depth. As with any good painting practice, more light coats is better that fewer thick coats.
