Hard starts with Unorthodox Pulley?

Anyone out there with hard start problems with the unorthodox pulley? And can this be corrected? I'm only getting one code 4-7 (crank sensor). Anyone....?

Does the Pulley have a timing ring on the back? It is a metal disk with 4 (I think) small teeth on it that the crank sensor reads. I belive the 2k2 Max uses the same pulley except it does not have the timing ring, so if you got the wrong pulley that could be your problem.

There where some problems with miscut timing rings with the RVM pulleys but I have not heard of this happening with the unorthodox.

I know nothing about this pulley or any other. I do know that this was one of the best ones out there. I will pull the pulley off tomorrow and check it out. If this timing ring is not there, will I be able to get one? Or am I screwed because I bought this thing used?

Are you sure it's an Unorthodox pulley? Do you know what year Max the person you bought it from had?

If you look at the stock pulley you should be able to see the small teeth the crank sensor reads. On an underdrive pulley these teeth are on a seperate ring that bolts on to the pulley. If the piece is there it could be bolted on it the wrong position.

Unorthodox will probably sell you just the timing ring, you would have to contact them to find out for sure.

Thank you very much for your wisdom. The Bozo that sold this piece to me must've removed and forgot to send it. Unfortunately, it was a private party (trying to save money) who sold this so, I now have to go to Unorthodox to get one. I hope this won't be such a big deal.

Thanks again for your support. Wish me luck. (what a difference it is without it!)
