Nissan Dealer Parts Pricing?
I recently asked a couple of my local Nissan dealers for price quotes on some items..Obviously I know they overcharge everything but I was obsurd by the prices that they quoted me for..
Anyways, of the 2 I called, both seemed to offer different price quotes for the same parts. I was under the assumption that parts pricing should be consistent throughout every dealer??
Anyways, do these prices seem exceedingly high? Stated in "PRICE QUOTE:PARTS/LABOUR" order..
USD conversion in parentheses bolded..
- Replace dash face assembly $740.82:$630 ($541.91:$460.90)
Glove box $142.46 incl. ($104.23)
- Rear muffler (lifetime warranty) $259.36:$90 ($189.75:$65.85)
- Rear muffler (1yr/20,000km warranty) $165.81:$90 ($121.31:$65.85)
- Mudflaps (Set of 4) $452.20:$72 ($330.85:$52.68)
- Headlamp $285.43:$90 ($208.83:$65.85)
- Foglamp $175.33:$27 ($128.28:$19.75)
- Trunk carpet $305.46:$45 ($223.49:$32.92)
Spare tire board $100.17 incl. ($73.29)
Taxes extra.
I apologize for the eyesore

Pricing may or may not be consistent be from dealer to dealer in a particular region, usually not as wide of a spread as what you found.
Another thing here in the States, there are dealerships that specialize in discount parts sales through phone mail order and internet. I have ordered from Pinnacle Nissan, a parts discounter dealership and usually save 15-20% over local dealers. Brown's Toyota does this too and I'm sure every make of auto has discount parts dealers Internet ordering from another state usually negates the tax to take the sting out of the shipping costs.

Actually, what I REALLY do need is a replacement muffler soon since the barrel is flaking pretty bad..
I haven't really found what I've been looking for through the Buy/Sell/Trade and Ebay but if I did, I'm not sure if the incurring costs to get it shipped to Canada would be worth it...there's no way I can drive to the states until next May if I where to pick up..
