Loose spoiler, anyone familiar with how to fix this?
i have an SE but the spoiler seems to be loose on the passenger side. Has a little gap which makes awful sound when u running a lot of bass. I went to nissan to see how much it would cost to fix and they say they have to look at it first which is 80 dollars + whatever it is to fix. F that, anybody know an easy route to fix this or any body shops in NJ that can assist me with this? njmaxlstd or someone?
i know some people have used jb weld stuff on 3rd gens and just used vice grips to hold it tight until it dried and it seemed to work fine. not sure if this would help but one idea atleast. goodluck man
mine did the same it is easy to fix you have to go to nissan and get the spoiler clips and the pastic part that the clip goes in. then open the trunk and take the carpet clips off the top part of the trunk there are 14 or so clips then take the carpet off then you can see the bolts where the spoiler is bolted on the trunk take them off but be careful if the are rusted, mine was and i snap one of the bolts off. then take off the spoiler then take out the clips in the spoiler and replace them with the new ones and on the trunk replace the plastic things where the clip goes in then put everthing back together hope that is what you wanted to know

if you still having problems gimme a call i think i'll actually be fixing mine today too (i sat on it and one of the clips broke off)

LMAO i love how nissan dealers want to CHARGE u to see what the problem is. they think they are so good at it, they must get paid to SEE stuff. take ur car there and say MY CARPET IS WORN OUT, I WANT A NEW ONE. they tell u, we charge 80 bux to take a look at it.
Its amazing how much they get paid. 80 bux to look at a spoiler (takes 30 seconds) so they actually get paid 160bux a MINUTE which is 9,600 bux an HOUR. damn those guys have studied for decades in univercities, they are just AMAZING !
As far as spoiler goes, maybe u want to take off the carpet under the trunk and see if the screw is loose? gl

You might get a free estimate or diagnosis from your local garage or even a car handy friend. If you dont like the dealer policies, then go there. Honestly, i havent been to the dealer with any of my cars since purchase. Never had a need to yet... We shall see.

only reason dealership are business is because of US. we ARE their customers. we are the ones who should be taken care of. they already charge 10 times more than a regular mechanic. r u telling me that 80 bux is a fair price to check a loose spoiler? if it was a CEL, then that would be another story because it takes lots of time and testing. but a loose spoiler takes no time. they shouldnt even need to look at it, they should know whats wrong. there are somethings that u just gotta do for free to make the customer happy and keep them coming back. they shoulnt ask for money to see a loose spoiler. and even if they do, 80 bux? u kidding? a new spoiler is 140 bux. 80 bux just to check it out? their time is that precious? (80 bux for 5 minutes of their time?) a docotor doesnt even make that much money and a mechanic does? how about ours? when we go to a dealer, we take time off of work, we dont make any money, we use gas, we get to dealer and then WE SPEND our hard earned money and put it in their pocket. u think our time isnt precious then? so u agree with 80 bux to see a loose spoiler? i personally think thats PATHETIC of a dealer treating a customer like that. we have spend 30+ grands on these cars and they have already eaten out of our money.

Perhaps your emotional remarks are directed to a mechanic, who apparently didnt really care to check out a "loose" spoiler, and not at the dealership.
Sounds like someone's been jilted by a dealer one to many times. lol
