Placeracing CAI or Injen?
Hey fellas, just takin a little poll here to see which intake you guys prefer. The Injen (which takes air from behind the radiator) or the PlaceRacing CAI (which takes from driver side wheel well).

And where do you find that price difference? I got my Injen for $205

for injen, Ceaser did a post comparing Injen to Frankencar, with real track time proof, injen came out #1

Doesn't Injen only give midrange power. I am wanting to know what kind of power Place Racing CAI gives. I am needing full range power throughout the RPM range. Why doesn't AEM make a CAI for the Max, they make one for the Altima. Thats Bull. If anyone with an Injen can give me any info on what kind of power gain they got from it I would appreciate it. Thanks.

dam the polls are dead even. I'll be putting on my PR CAI soon and i'll be able to tell through butt dyno if i seen any improvement, but i have a feeling my low end is gonna be off the hook then i'll lag at high mid to high....

I have Place Racing, I love it, the only hard part was CUtting the Hole into the Side Fender area next ot the wheel well, They don't say anything aboutthat before you buy the product! But It sounds Beastle and gave me instant Noticable Power (FULL RANGE)!!! I vote with Place Racing.

They dyno'd the intake on a 95 maxima se, no real loss anywhere, and gains from 2k to redline.
It has been shown that most cold air intakes lose power in the low end, didn't notice anything of the sort when I installed the injen cai. btw I didn't pay 350, more like 250 a year ago.

A side question for 97 owners...did your air intake temp sensor NOT have the bracket with 2 screws shown in the injen instructions? I had nothing to mount in on with so i keep having to glue it in place...also do the holes for the two screws go as deep as they would let unfiltered air in around the sensor? That would be baaaad

installation....
A friend and I installed it in half an hour, 3/4s full of beer. As for things not quite 'fitting perfectly'... cmon, it's not like you can't do it, just a little forcing here and there. Mine's been on for over a year now, haven't had any problems with it.

I installed the new Injen intake on the Chariot and my 1/4 miles times are lower/better than my other setups and MPH/trap speeds up !
So considering these numbers for me at the track and the overall looks... its INJEN TIME !

Its really not a big deal to cut a hole. I didnt even have the right saw so we just drilled a little hole, then used wire snips to trim back the metal, then just put a rubber seal around it. Works awsome. Originally had pop charger- then franken style (midpipe) intake, now this. And i got no dyno's but im very pleased. Its full range power on demand . Under the hood looks aren't really important to me b/c i dont usually say "hey check this out dude" b/c all I got under the hood IS an intake 
However I do like the fack that theres just a polished pipe that seems to disapear into the fender. Im sure the Injen is great too, just never seen one in person. 
Hey Ceaser, what did you have b4 the Injen- just the frankencar midpipe? And is it louder in the car or w/ the windows compared to b4....

the injen sounded louder to me on the outside but after listening to my videos it was close to the same. the frankencar is louder in the cab, but with my exhaust i can hardly hear either from inside.

I have the PR CAI, and I did a little custom work on the install. Instead of putting the intake in the wheel well, I moved my battery so it is sideways, and I cut a hole to run down behind where the factory fog light would be. Since I have a GXE, I don't have the fogs, and it is direct cold air to the filter. My CAI seems to work and sound better than any other CAI I have seen.
