ok guys riddle me this.

Here is the scenario.
I am loosing a quart of oil every 4-6 days, depending on milage. I average 400-600 miles in the same amount of time. Changed my plugs today and 5 had a white crusty substance on them suggesting lean and the rear center had a black cruscy substance on it suggesting rich. I changed my plugs at my friends mechanic shop and these where the diagnosis' that he gave me. None had any sign of deposits from burning oil. We also changed the oil and I saw no sign of a leak. The car does not smoke at all unless I do not use the VI for several days, which I hardly ever use cause I am all about economy right now. When I use the VI after not using it for a while I get a little smoke from where oil deposits inside the VI chamber. This sounds odd but I have read several others have oil in their VI chambers as well, most do to be exact. So whats is the deal?
Could this be a bad PCV valve? Is it smoking but just so minutely that I am not detecting it?
Do I have a bad ring or vavle seal and for some reason the car is burning oil and not fouling plugs?
And might I ad the car idles and runs P E R F E C T L Y. Hauls ***, and beats the occasional unexpecting GT. I am going to do a compression test next week to see what gives on that, but are there any other ideas?
BTW sorry I have not been on in a while, I have been ***** deep in a full time job and being a full time student. Not much time for Maxima fun.

I don't think the PCV valve should cause you to lose that much oil...but why not change it anyways...cheap part!
