Exhaust leak, help me out

Alright, here's my setup, budget y, budget unresonated b, and stock muffler which I just put on today. Meineke who put my magnaflow muffler on, didn't use and gaskets or rubber rings or whatever they're called when they put it on which may be why its so loud. I put my stock muffler on today and its still very loud, but it's definately leaking somewhere where it connects. I didn't put a gasket inbetween the muffler and b pipe, do I need to? What exactly do I need? I just bolted them together. Thanks

word of advice.. the gaskets arent for looks or that extra part to conguse you. try putting them on. it should help. if not then go back. they should warranty there work. they help with everything from squeakes, sxhausts, oil pans, etc. good luck..

Went back, got the right gasket at an auto parts store and i'm set. Question though, I went to nissan and said I needed a gasket for that piece and they have me a little metal ring, whereas the one that actually worked was a lot bigger and fitted the shape of the pipes and screw holes. Whats the difference since I will be putting my stock y pipe and b pipe on soon?

you got the right part. i had a leak, between my resonated Budget b-pipe and stock muffler, but my mechanic said it was a pain in the a$$ to take the old gasket out (it was there pretty solidly), so he just used "exhaust cement" (thats what he called it). now i'm all nice and quiet. i am looking for a magnaflow muffler though

i used nissan's "ring" for my exhaust gasket, i just place them between my stock b-pipe and magnaflow muffler and quiet the whole exhaust down by a lot.

u may wanna check between your cat and b-pipe, as well as the cat and y-pipe. just find the right gasket that fits and cover your leakage, then you should be in good shape.
