Where to put Boost Sensor on CAI????????
Where to put Boost Sensor on CAI????????
Ok i just put in my PR stlye CAI and I dont know what to do w/ the Boost Sensor? It was attatched to the stock air scoop but what do i do w/ it now ???? AND am i supposed to put the temp sensor in the extra port near where the 3 vacum hoses go, I did and my car seems to run ok.
I thought the CAI would of been louder than my previous 2 setups (pop charger than franken car style) but its actually pretty quite

I pot mine with black electrical tape on one of the intake hoses click on the link to see the pic

OH, so i dont need to "splice" it into anything, it just kinda sits around? If so then im ok i can just mount it anywhere.
What about the temp sensor? It is supposed to have the intake air flowing across it right? I think the "port" that comes plugged on the intake is for NOS or turbo or something but i just put the sensor in there, and it makes a pretty tight seal. Is this necessary or will it just restrict air flow. What did everyone else do w/ their Air temp sensor??????

.
after I put on my CAI, I first didn't mess with any sensors except the Air Mass. the car ran alright. However later on I did install the temp senor into the ported plug that was on the intake and the car ran the same but with slightly better gas milage. I would def recomend you put the sensor in the intake plug so it senses the colder air coming into the engine. the boast sensor can be mounted anywhere, be sure it won't melt and make the mount strong so it won't pop lose.
Ok, looks like I did it right then. I still dont understand why this CAI setup is quiter than the previous ones. I read that when you remove that box under the battery tray it was supposed to get louder. Oh well i like how it sounds and it seems to run smoother than my previous 2 setups so im happy.
the resonators on the intake quiet it down. when they are removed the intake makes a loud more pronounce inhale.
