Burned smell when accelerating hard

Hey guys. Im not sure what the problem is but whenever I accelerate moderately hard, I get a burning smell coming from my car. Im pretty sure its not my cat cause it does not smell like rotten eggs. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

My guess would be that you probably have oil leaking somewhere on your exhaust system and when you start to accelerate or put the car under a load your exhaust gas temp raises thus giving you this burnt oil smell. Just my guess. Have you try to look in the mirror or have a friend follow you while you jump on it to see if you can see any smoke? I hope this helps you. You may want to start by checking your valve cover gaskets for any leaks.

my guess is that your smelling sulfur from the gas you are using, use a different brand of gas and see if it goes away. I work for a lexus dealership and lexus's smeel the same way when they run some exxon fuels, goes away when using a different brand

if it doesnt smell like rotten eggs, its not the cat, if it doesnt smell rich its not a gas leak. do you know how coolant smells, weird kinda sweet smell, but its still burning and toxic, so hard to describe. could be an oil leak, small drops burning off...only leaks when high engine pressure/rpm, leaking gasket or something

actually...yes. a lot of times (when we do huuuge burn outs) me and my buddies use different stuff to make it slip easier. tire shine stuff makes it slip more and smell less, and RC car tire traction compound (comes in different scents) or marvel mystery oil (smells like pepperment) makes slipping easier...but at the same time makes it smell a loooot less. but whats wrong with burning rubber smell?
