well ok it wasn't really a race cause i know i was going to get killed i got my stock max and well he had everything it was some 40 year old dude i could see all the fancy gauges and what not i knew it would blow me away but ya know i thought i would try...i punched it off the line and was ahead of him (hahaha he didn't know we were racing yet and then about 40 he got even and then decided to gun it and flew away from me as we hit 80 he was about 2-3 car lengths ahead...thats when i called it quits...just wondering if anyone knew about hp and what not of the rx7 all i know is that it was red so that must have added at least ya know 15 or 20 hp and it looked just like the fast and the furious one adding another 50 hp...aight any info would be apreciated

yeah i know just wasn't happy that a car was actually faster then mying...hey heres a question for everyone what mods would i have to do without cheeting such as nitrous or a turbo would i have to do to be able to beat and rx7?

nitrous, turbo or super is not cheating depends if your a 5 speed or auto, what year you want to beat, etc
#11
well i know it's not cheating i think it's kinda cheap though cause it gives u such a big gain(nitrous is about as cheap as u can get though) in hp i just wanted to know well mying is an auto and i'd say the rx7 was fairly new....when did they stop making them?

what u need to do is learn how to spell mine first, then get urself a 5 speed thats a start, especially if u don't wanna go FI, which, in order to beat a modded rx-7, you would need at least mevi, ecu, some sort of intake, a rebuilt auto trans with stronger internals and different gearing, exhaust, and that MIGHT get u to maybe 1 car length or so but otherwise u definately need turbo or sc or nitrous

RX-7's are well known to consume a lot of oil . So, if you could hang with him till he burned all the oil in his engine, and it then seized, you'd sail right by him....
In all fairness, they are pretty nice cars if you want a small sports car. 2 friends had them, and they were pretty quick and felt very light. I just got an offer in the mail today from Mazda to sign up to test drive an RX-8 when they're available. I might take them up on it just to see what it'll do.

problem with rx-8... loss of power with emissions trouble. they were fun to drive, then got recalled and toned down

originally, they made some powerful ones, didnt work with emissions, took them back, and released the sucky ones, mazda apologized and offered full cash back for them...i dont think they ever sold the powerful version again
