I think I might be the first and last person to not really care for red/clears on a 95/96 maxima. I know I'm probably going to get flamed, but they just don't look right. 97-99 look 100x better. The 95/96 just aren't very tasteful. And know you're all going to say that they are just 97-99 flipped upside down, but either way I don't think they are all that great. Almost makes me wish I had a 97-99.

Although i own a 96 and have a beautiful pair of David L red/clears im going to have to agree with you somewhat. I lvoe the way the trunk looks on a 97-99. It has more edge (if that makes any sense). The red and clear parts seem thinner too. The inside part comes ot a point kind of as opposed to the round 95-96. I don;t dislike the 95-96 look though. I actually love the way mine look. We look like the acura tls!

i think it depends all on the car. i've seen some pics of 95/96's that looked incredible...and others were they looked plain and dull. if the car has a body kit i think they look just as good as 97-99's. maybe it's just because i see so many 97+'s on here that when i see a 95/96 with them, they look better because they're rare. blarg

 

95-96 max w/ red/clear tails is very rare. thats why its so popular. I'm probably going to buy some gen 1 altexxas when i get the money. I want to open them up and paint them all red except for the little half circles for the reverse lights. i think that would look good. or maybe i'll just red out my amber sections and then smoke my tails. oh well, i'll figure it out when i get to it.

I personaly think 95-96 red clears look very good. They make the car look a hell of a lot better then ugly orange lights. Honestly I think you are getting way to picky if you think they look wrong because they are upsiade down. To be honest I never even realized the 97-99 was reversed from the 95-96. Thats just my opinion.
