Pure luck...
...if you find one. You will learn quickly that if you want a 5 speed you can't be too picky. Most of the 5 speeds I have seen have been black or white though. You should let some dealers in you area know what you want -- they will give you a call if they get something in if you are serious. Good luck in your search...
Autotrader and Call-arounds
- You must be very patient if you want to find the right car for you. I checked Autotrader.com for about a month before I got lucky with a random dealership. There's lots of choices out there, but make sure that its something that you want. Don't hesitate to call places. It is their job to sell you a car.
- And don't be afraid to haggle. When I bought my car, one of the twenty or so "managers" came in, looked at our offer, and shot us a look like we had killed his dog. It was his job to do that, but we still got the price we wanted. Don't be afraid to be a pain in the ****.
- Also, don't forget that if you do find a stick model, the clutch could be toasted. At the very least, use that when haggling. A new clutch with the labor involved could cost you around $600-700.
- Good luck!

I was looking for a fully loaded 97 black maxima se auto or 5spd. I found less than an hour away, and it even had a carbaon fiber dash kit already installed! The only option it didn't have were the BOSE system. Talk about luck.

I just bought a 98 SE with 5 speed in Sterling mist, I love it and I have seen a few around but I don't know if they are 5 speeds. I looked at a few 5 speed cars, one was a bronze 99. They are there, you just have to look. If you have a paper online like the Dallas Morning News you can use the "search" function in the ads and look for Maxima SE and that takes lots of work out. All you have to do is cull out the auto's. The Majority on sale were Auto's, I think the stats for 98 was 7% 5 speeds.
