1997 Maxima Exhaust Y-Pipe Removal

Wonding if anyone has removed the stock Y-Pipe. It took me hours to get the nuts off that attach the Y-Pipe to the front and rear exhaust. The problem is the Y-Pipe still won't come off. I tried to chisel the pipe flange from the front exhaust manifold. It did budge a little, but just a little. Don't know how to even attempt the rear, with the limit space. Is there anything else holding it in?

Also, I read that the wires to the oxygen sensors can not be removed. Does that mean you have to remove the wires on the engine side and let them hang down?

Any ideas, thanks.

I guess I answered my own question about the y-pipe. In addition to the nuts that hold the ypipe to the front and back manifolds, there is a tab with two bolts that hold the ypipe to the underside of the car. Once I removed those two bolts it came right out.

Ha Ha, same happened to me!. There I am, tapping on the y-pipe flange
and I finally see that it's moving, then discover the two bolts.

in the future try using the liquid wrench or a similar product, i let it sit for about 5min and then my bolts came off like they were jello. of course mine is a 99 so they had only been on for like 4yrs.
